Simiotics Logo

Discussion
I chose the Mozilla Firefox Logo for my logo. It consists of a Fox that is half fox Half fire curling around a globe. The Colors of the ox are several colors of red, orange, and yellow with touches of white. The globe is two colors of blue with a bit of white shading at the top.

Specific Symbols, Origin, and Meaning

Firefox started its life as the Phoenix Project for the Mozilla Corporation for people who wanted an open sourced, customizable web rouser that isn’t bogged down with preinstalled apps. It was named the Phoenix Project to represent rising from the ashes of Netscape. But due to legal pressure from another company Mozilla changed the name to Firebird to Mozilla Firebird to its final name Mozilla Firefox. They chose Firefox after the nickname of the Red Panda and to keep with the raising fire creature theme. The globe it curls around is representative of their global presence and their ability to connect the people of the world with each other.

The Semiotic Category
